To get more information about Box Tops and see a list of products, go to www.boxtops4education.com

World’s Finest Chocolate…
The World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser is officially underway! Last year, this was the most successful fundraiser for the school, bringing in approximately $17,000! That money helped pay for our wonderful P.E. teacher, Nate Anderson so that every child at school had weekly P.E. The PTA would love to do even more for the students this year, so remember that Roosevelt gets to keep $25 for each box of chocolate sold. Please keep in mind that if you sign for a box of chocolate to sell, you are responsible for the entire box. You may not return any unsold chocolate back to the school. For more information, contact the school office.

A Note about PTA…
In previous years, voting at a PTA meeting required that parents paid membership dues. The PTA executive board voted to pay the membership fee for all Roosevelt families to make sure that every Roosevelt parent would feel that they had a voice in the PTA. So, come to a PTA meeting this year and hear about the programs that the PTA wants to fund and give them your vote. All meetings offer free childcare in the YMCA room and Spanish translation is gladly given for anyone that needs it.

Rummage Sale…
It’s time to gear up for the 2nd annual Roosevelt Rummage Sale on October 15. The PTA is ready to receive any donations you can give to sell at the sale. Space will also be available to rent if you want to sell, so let friends, neighbors and family members know. Flyers for the rummage sale will be coming home soon. For more information, contact aurora.gallardo@star-vista.org

On the Parent Blog…
Do you have any homework tips or tricks that work for your family? I want to put together a list of things that make homework easier or even more fun in your house that we can pass along to everyone. So, let me know what works for you and I’ll post it on the blog – trishreillytaylor@gmail.com And remember, if you have any pictures or content you’d like to submit, let me know.

Calling all runners…
On October 15, the RCEF is hosting OctobeRun — a Half Marathon Race and a 5K Run/Walk. All proceeds from this event go to the RCEF for school programs in our district. We are hoping to get a team of runners or walkers to represent Roosevelt at this event and also a Roosevelt team leader. For more information, go to the event website at www.oktoberun.com If you are interested, please contact trishreillytaylor@gmail.com and I’ll put you in touch with anyone else that is interested in participating.

School t-shirts and sweatshirts…

For those still wishing to purchase t-shirts or sweatshirts, all sizes are now available — Youth XS through Adult 3XL. Please stop by the office to pick up an order form. T-shirts are $10 and hoodies/sweatshirts are $20. Both are considered part of the school uniform.
