Labels for Education…

World’s Finest Chocolate…
Monday is the kickoff for the World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser. Last year, this was the most successful fundraiser for the school, bringing in approximately $17,000. Please remember that if you sign for a box of chocolate to sell, you are responsible for the entire box. You may not return any unsold chocolate back to the school. More information will be coming home with your child on Monday.

Rummage Sale…
It’s time to gear up for the 2nd annual Roosevelt Rummage Sale on October 15. The PTA is ready to receive any donations you can give to sell at the sale. Space will also be available to rent if you want to sell, so let friends, neighbors and family members know. Flyers for the rummage sale will be coming home soon.

On the Parent Blog…
I’ve posted pictures of last Tuesday’s dairy cow assemblies. Don’t forget to check out the Activities and Links section on the blog. There are some really great educational (and fun) websites listed.

School t-shirts and sweatshirts…
For those that pre paid for school t-shirts or sweatshirts at MAZE day, the orders are in and are waiting to be picked up in the office. For those still wishing to purchase t-shirts or sweatshirts, all sizes are now available — Youth XS through Adult 3XL. Please stop by the office to pick up an order form. T-shirts are $10 and hoodies/sweatshirts are $20. Both are considered part of the school uniform.

Emergency kits…
If you haven’t done so already, don’t forget to turn in an emergency kit for your child. It should contain some snacks that will be able to be stored until June – fruit roll ups, fruit snacks, granola bars, etc. (Please include a spoon if one of the food items requires a spoon.) You can also include tissues, a note, a picture, etc. We hope that once again the kits will not be needed, but in case they are, please send in a kit so that child will have one.

District News…
As of October 1, 2011, the price of school lunches will increase to $2.25 and breakfast will cost $1.25. To see the full bulletin about the fee increase go to the district’s website www.rcsd.k12.ca.us

Have a great week!
