Did you know that cows have four stomachs and chew their cud to get the most energy out of their food?  Chances are your child does after Tuesday morning’s assembly!

On Tuesday, September 13, Roosevelt students were visited by the Dairy Council of California Mobile Classroom.  Our students got to meet a holstein cow named Electra (Ellie)  and a calf named Della.  The students learned about the anatomy of a cow, what a dairy cow eats & drinks and how milk gets from the cow to the milk containers in their homes.

All of the students got a chance to pet the calf, and some lucky students got a chance to feed her from a bottle.
