Correction…
The art show set up was listed for Thursday, June 6, but Marlene Perez will begin putting it up starting at 9:00am on June 5. Marlene will be there from 9-6, so any time people have (even if its only an hour or two) would be appreciated. Volunteers are welcome and needed on the 6th too. Marlene’s goal is to have the bulk of it up on the 5th so that the 6th can be for finishing touches so as many hands as we can get the better. We NEED volunteers to help install!!! No artistic talent needed! Just an ability to use a stapler. Contact marlenevperez@comcast.net for more information or just come to the YMCA room on Wednesday & Thursday.
Class Field Trips, Picnics, Etc…
Make sure to check with your child’s teacher about anything coming up in your child’s class. Please note: the school/district DOES NOT pay for field trips, or class parties. Field trips are paid for by parent donations and each class is given $20 per student for the entire year by the PTA. That $20 may cover the entire cost of transportation and entry fees, or it may not. If you are being asked to donate money for a field trip, it is because more money is needed to cover costs. As for classroom parties, teachers DO NOT receive any money from the school/district or PTA. If your teacher has requested donations of money, it is to cover the cost of the party.
Earthquakes Soccer Game…
Get your order forms in for the SJ Earthquakes v LA Galaxy soccer game at Stanford Stadium on June 29. Roosevelt has once again reserved a block of seats for the game. Flyers went home in last Thursday’s blue folder with information about the game, the AMAZING ticket sale prizes and the order form! All tickets cost $20 each. Tell your friends and family – this game was sold out last year and we were lucky enough to have an entire section! Order forms can be sent in to your child’s classroom (but make sure to put your child’s name & room number on the form) or you can bring your order form into the office. All orders are due by June 7 so that we have enough time to distribute the tickets before the end of school.

A few events have been added so make sure to mark them on your calendar. (Field trips are only posted if I receive information from teachers or Principal Girardi. If you don’t see a field trip listed, it is because I didn’t receive the information. If you let me know of any activities in your child’s class that you think should go on the update, let me know and I’ll be happy to add them.)
