This is your chance to win a great prize and help our school! You can get more raffle tickets from the office and the tickets can be sold to friends, family, co-workers, etc. The drawing will be held after school on December 16, so get your tickets turned in! (Winners will be contacted by phone). Your PTA wants to fund so much more this year, so let’s make this fundraiser count! Good luck!
Teddy Roosevelt Day!…
On Thursday, December 15 the students of Roosevelt will be visited by our nation’s 26th president and our school’s namesake, Theodore Roosevelt! President Roosevelt last visited our campus in February 2015, so we’re all looking forward to his return visit. Parents are also welcome to attend. Please contact your child’s teacher to find out what time Mr. Roosevelt will be in the classroom.
Did You Know?…
Free chess lessons are offered in the YMCA room during lunch time recess every Tuesday for students in grades 1 – 8. This weekly class is sponsored by your Roosevelt PTA – thanks to parent donations to the Roosevelt Enrichment Fund that make this wonderful opportunity for students possible!
Do you have outstanding library fines? Well, this is your chance to clear your account by simply helping others. The Redwood City Public Library, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, will accept donated food in place of overdue book fines over the month of December as part of their “Food for Fines” program. Anyone with outstanding library fines is invited to deliver nonperishable food items to any Redwood City library during regular business hours. The higher the amount of your unpaid fines, the more food you can donate.
