Message from the Principal
Dear Roosevelt Families,
For a short week, it felt like a long one—somehow it always feels as if we squeeze five days of work into four!
I’d like to begin with a heartfelt apology for the technical difficulties of Back to School Night. While it is not quite the same thing, I have included the grade level presentations in this week’s Raccoon Reporter. There is a lot of other very important information included, so please make sure to check it out. If you are not receiving our newsletter, please contact our school office to ensure that we have the right phone number and email address for you.
This coming week, we have our first School Site Council meeting (virtually) for the year. All are welcome to attend the meetings, and we are looking for new voting members. Please consider joining us if you are interested in helping to make decisions for our school.
Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead,
Tina

PTA Picnic – What a way to start the year!
Thank you to everyone who came to the PTA picnic last Friday at Red Morton Park. There were tacos, dancing, games, and a lot of happy kids. It was great to see so many families and kids together again. We hope next time you will join us!
First PTA Meeting of the Year – Sept 28
Join us virtually for the first PTA meeting of the year. Check this an other important dates in the Upcoming Dates section at the end of every newsletter. Links will be sent out a week in advance.
Help Maintain the Pond on Campus!
Mrs. Paulette needs our help to maintain the pond by the library. She has important work helping our students learn to love to read! Please help take some of the pond duties off her shoulders. We are hoping a volunteer would be able to commit to at least 2-3 days a week. Duties would be skimming the water, make sure the filter is cleaned out, make sure the tank is fully running, make sure they are fed, etc, about 15 minutes total per visit. Mrs. Paulette could help walk you through the responsibilities. Please reach out to Emily Schannep (emily@roosevelt-pta.com) if able to help. We and the students would be oh so greatful!!!!
Get your spirit gear
