Message from the Principal
Dear Roosevelt Families,
We just completed a fantastic first week of school! It really was incredible to see how happy students were to be back, and how happy teachers were to be teaching full-time in person again. Yes, we are all a little exhausted, but it is the happy kind of exhaustion.
Teachers and students are following all of our health and safety guidelines, the most important of which is wearing masks. There is a lot of important information in this week’s Raccoon Reporter. Please read it if you haven’t already
I am looking forward to hosting my first virtual Coffee with the Principal for this school year in early September (the date is still to be confirmed). At that time, Veronica Hernández-Lobos, our Community School Coordinator, will be able to provide some information about one of the biggest changes at our school as we become a Community School. I’ll also be able to update you on the Roosevelt news, and of course, I’ll be able to address any questions you may have. I should have a confirmed date in next week’s Raccoon Reporter
I hope you are all adjusting to the schedule change of getting your students up and ready for school. Please know that we are so excited to have them all back, and I look forward to meeting with you soon. If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please reach out to me at tmercer@rcsdk8.net.
Warmly,
Tina
Annual PTA donation – Who wants to go to Disneyland???
If possible, we ask that parents donate $250 for each family. If you are not able to donate that amount, please consider donating another amount – every bit helps! PTA donations cover community events, enrichment activities, and teacher and student needs on campus.
Families donating any amount to the PTA before the end of the month Aug 31 will be eligible for a drawing for multiple free passes to Disneyland. Winners will be chosen at random in September.
Make your annual Roosevelt Enrichment Fund donation here.

This will be put on by Redwood City Girl Scouts. Interested families should register at https://tinyurl.com/GSRWC21.
