Before the long weekend begins, here are some important meetings and updates:update

Art Show Preparation…
Help is needed from 9:00am – 2:00pm on May 28  to get our students’ art displayed for the Art Show on May 29.  Artistic ability is NOT needed, but you will have to know how to use a stapler! The art work has to be stapled to display boards and tables need to be covered. The students have been working hard all year on their artwork, so please come and help to get it looking it’s best! Help will also be needed on May 30 from 11:00am – 3:00pm to take all of the artwork down. If you can only help for an hour or two, it will be appreciated! Please contact Marlene Perez at marlenevperez@comcast.net to help out.

School Garden Meeting…
Parents are invited to the last garden meeting of the year – we will be discussing what worked this year, and planning for next year. We would love to include more volunteers in the garden next year, so people can come learn more about the program.  We will be in the garden at 10:15am on 5/28 – please contact Megan Goulden at megan.goulden@gmail.com

Vote for 7th grade teacher Sarah Coyle…
We’re heading into the final week of voting for Sarah Coyle for the All-Star Teacher award!  If Sarah wins, Roosevelt will receive $20,000!  The winning teacher is the one who receives the most votes.  Sarah is an exceptional teacher and truly an asset to Roosevelt. She has given her all to her students and now we have a chance to show her some support.

You can support Sarah and Roosevelt by voting once per day until June 1 at:

– Visit www.csnbayarea.com/allstarteacher
– Fill out the information in the VOTE NOW box and press Submit
– You are allowed to vote once per day!
– Students may also vote, but they need parent permission

Note: Unfortunately, voting is not supported for smartphones.

This is posted this on Roosevelt’s Facebook page — www.facebook.com/RooseveltElementarySchoolPLEASE share it on your own Facebook page and ask for friends and family to help with voting.

And finally…

Are You In…To WIN?…
It’s your final chance this year to turn in your $100 donation to the PTA!  All families that have donated $100 to the PTA by Friday, May 30 will be entered into a raffle to win a 7 night trip to Villa del Palmar located in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico!

If you haven’t already paid your $100, it’s not too late! Checks can be made out to Roosevelt PTA or you may pay by credit card in the school office or use the Donate button on the parent blog at www.rooseveltparents.com

The PTA would once again like to extend their heartfelt thanks to those families that have already contributed $100 and to those that have been making regular payments on their pledged amounts.
