Make sure to mark your calendars for the following events at Roosevelt this week:

Dine in or get a meal to go at Pasta Pomodoro all day on Wednesday and Roosevelt will get 20% of your bill back for our school! Extra flyers are available in the office.   Pasta Pomodoro is located at 490 El Camino Real (at Whipple and El Camino).  You must present the flyer to your server.

Keep checking the Parent Blog!
Make sure to bookmark our blog – www.rooseveltparents.com. Last week I posted an update from the 6th Grade Expansion Committee as well as important information about Schaberg library’s Homework Club.  New pictures are also being added as I receive them.

Book Swap…
Ms. Tsuchiyama’s 4th grade class is still collecting books for their February Book Swap. Please bring in any used books (in good condition) to your child’s classroom and the 4th graders will take care of the rest!

Save the Date…
Drug Awareness Night – February 28
An officer from the Sherrif’s department will be coming to Roosevelt for a presentation on drug awareness on Monday, February 28 from 6:30 – 8:30pm. Please note: because the officer will be bringing items associated with drugs, this is an adult only event, but childcare will be available in the Champions Room.

Expansion Committee at Board Meeting – March 9
The Expansion Committee will be presenting before the School Board on March 9 to ask that Roosevelt become a K-8 school.

Fundraising…
The Boys vs Girls Box Tops contest is underway!  Make sure to send in those Box Tops!

Be on time…
Monday is the last day for the  ELAC and PTA “Be On Time!” contest for the class who has the most students that arrive on time to school each morning through January 31st. The winning class will have a pizza party!

Have a great week!
