Perhaps missed with all of the national election news – we’re happy to report that last Tuesday Measure U passed in Redwood City!
The Yes on U committee would like to thank all our volunteers and supporters for their significant efforts to educate and motivate our community around the value of public education. Whenever you feel tired or frustrated, you can remember back to this feeling and know that your blood, sweat, tears and the sleepless nights your poured into the campaign will manifest itself over the next 14 years as a legacy of improved public education in your community. We thank you and our children thank you.

Unfortunately, that means that our students can’t read or write anything in cursive – or even write their own signature! Roosevelt’s PTA asked for an after school class to be taught to students in grades 3-6 and Ms. Girardi delivered! A former Roosevelt teacher will be on site after school on Tuesdays & Thursdays in Room 11 to offer 6 sessions of cursive writing instruction. The cost is $40 per student to pay for the teacher. Please see the flyer that came home in last Thursday’s folder for more information and to sign up!
