Rightside Shirts…reminder
Order forms are due for Rightside tshirts on Monday, March 17. Extra order forms are available in the school office or use the link below to order online.

Sales of these shirts raises money for art education! Several weeks ago hundreds of students participated in an afternoon of art, during which they created anything their imaginations would permit. We have printed four of these creative, colorful, and unique designs on shirts to raise money for Roosevelt’s art programs.

But we need your help to reach our goal of $300!

For every shirt we sell $5 goes directly to Roosevelt to buy things like paint and other art supplies. Not only will you be helping your school community, you’ll also get to wear a beautiful piece of artwork to school (all shirts have been approved for the school uniform).

There are only 3 school days left to order, be sure to check out the shirts here:www.raisy.org/roosevelt

Help us spread creativity, and bring even more art to Roosevelt!

March 17 Spirit Day!…
Once again the student council has organized a school spirit day and this one honors St. Patrick’s Day! On Monday March 17, any student wearing green may come to school in free dress. One item of clothing must be green (just having green hair does not count) in order to wear free dress. Students don’t have to be in head to toe green, but that’s fine too!

Why do people wear green for St. Patrick’s Day? The March 17th tradition of wearing green has a few explanations. Supposedly blue was originally the color associated with the holiday but over time green took over due to Ireland’s nickname as “The Emerald Isle”, the green in the Irish flag and the green clover associated with St. Patrick. There is also a legend that wearing green makes you invisible to leprechauns that will pinch you if they can see you. That’s why you’re told that you’ll be pinched if you’re not wearing green, but there won’t be any pinching at school on Monday!

So show your school spirit and wear some green on Monday!
