Four Roosevelt middle school students won a t-shirt design contest for Rightside Shirts. These shirts are now available for purchase for $19 per shirt. All proceeds go to Roosevelt school to help fund art programs. All four designs may be worn to school as part of the Roosevelt uniform. Extra order forms are available in the school office. Orders are due on Monday, March 17. Payments can be made with cash or check made out to Rightside Shirts. To view the shirts in color, go to www.raisy.org/roosevelt.

Fundraising…
We’re a bit more than half way through the school year, and there are only two fundraisers left (Easter/Spring Candy & SJ Earthquakes game tickets). The PTA still has A LOT left to pay for this year and they need money in the bank for the August payment to Art 4 All for next year’s art classes (~$25,000). If you are receiving monthly pledge reminders from the PTA, please send in your payments. If you haven’t made a direct donation or haven’t paid your pledged amount, please do so! So far, the PTA has been able to pay for: field trips ($13,000 or $20 per student), Art 4 All for every student ($20,000 or $35 per student), teacher reimbursements ($120 per teacher), Family Fun Nights ($500 per event), after school enrichment ($10,000), Outdoor Education ($10,000) and Yosemite ($10,000). If you want to see the PTA budget or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact reftreasurer@gmail.com

The PTA is still asking each family to donate $100 per child to our school to pay for the above expenses and so much more! Checks can be made out to Roosevelt PTA or you may pay by credit card in the school office or use the Donate button on the parent blog at www.rooseveltparents.com

The PTA would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to those families that have already contributed $100 and to those that have been making regular payments on their pledged amounts.

5th Grade Families…
Please send in your payments now for the week Outdoor Education in May. As with other field trips and events throughout the year, the PTA can’t fund the entire trip for the 5th grade so we need parent contributions  to make this trip happen.

Middle School Spiritwear…
8th graders may purchase a Class of 2014 hooded sweatshirt. The sweatshirt has Roosevelt Class of 2014 on the front and the names of all of the 8th graders on the back. Cost is $22 per sweatshirt if purchased between Feb 18 – 28. Cost is $25 if purchased between March 3 – 7. This is a single run, so orders will not be accepted after March 7.

Students in grades 6 – 8 may purchase Roosevelt uniform sweatpants. The Roosevelt logo will be on the hip of one leg and ROOSEVELT written down the other leg. Cost is $20.

Additional order forms are available in the school office for the 8th grade hoodies and the sweatpants.

Donation letters…
The PTA has donation letters that you can use to ask for donations for a general PTA contribution, the 5th grade trip to Outdoor Education or the 6th grade trip to Yosemite. If you would like a hard copy of any of the letters, please let us know and we’ll be happy to give you as many copies as you need. You can also download the letters here and print them out yourself: PTA_Donation, PTA_OE_Donation, PTA_Yosemite_Donation.

Online Directory…
The 2013/2014 school directory is going green! We’ve switched to an online directory to save money on printing costs and to save paper. You will be able to access the directory from your home computer, smart phone or tablet starting in December. You can also update your family information any time during the year. The system will “graduate” your child every year, so you only have to enter the information just once. Each year you just need to verify that your information is correct.
