On the Parent Blog…
I need pictures! Kinder tour season has begun and there’s been a jump in views on the parent blog. I would love to have more pictures from all of the grade levels to show what’s going on at Roosevelt. So, if you have any pictures, please let me know so that I can post them on the blog.

Technology…
Last week Roosevelt received brand new computers in the computer lab! The older computers have been moved to the auxiliary computer lab in Room 19 so students will be able to use those for project research, Accelerated Reader, and Jiji Math. Also, SMART boards have been installed in 4 classrooms including one in Room 19 that can be used by all classrooms. The teachers have all received training on using the new SMART boards and they’re very excited about them! And finally, one 4th grade and one 5th grade class will also be using iPods for math skills and word fluency as part of a pilot program called Project iRead.

People are blogging…
Last month Ms Girardi gave a tour to an educator from Oregon that was interested in Project Based Learning while she was in Redwood City visiting her grandchildren who attend Adelante.  See what she had to say about Roosevelt on her blog http://meanderings.edublogs.org/2011/12/03/project-based-learning/

Have a great week!
